Tools for Conserving your Forest

A series of workshops in Ashland, Bayfield, Douglas and Sawyer Counties Focused on Conservation and Stewardship Options for Woodland Landowners

The workshops are intended to provide an educational forum for woodland landowners to gain information on conservation and stewardship options, voluntary
incentive programs and economic benefits that currently are available through various county, state and federal agencies and organizations.

Workshops will feature three sessions including:

  • Ecological Benefits of Active Conservation and Stewardship of Forest Lands:
  • Water Quality and Watershed Protection
  • Forest Ecosystem Integrity
  • Wildlife Habitat
  • Conservation and Stewardship Options for Working Woodlands
  • Conservation Pays-Economic Benefits for Woodland Landowners

Sessions will include presentations by representatives from UW Extension, County Conservation Departments, Natural Resource Conservation Service, Bayfield Regional Conservancy, Living Forest Cooperative, Local Landowners and others.

In addition the half-day workshops will offer displays and and educational materials covering conservation activities in the region.
