Wild Lake Conservation Easement

An entire wild lake and over 300 acres will be "forever wild" thanks to a conservation easement donated by a landowner in Sawyer County. Loons, otters and bear ramble this forested land adjacent to the Chequamegon National Forest.

The landowner worked with the Bayfield Regional Conservancy to draw up a conservation easement tailored to the land and their wishes for the future. Further sub-division or building is prohibited. No mining, road building or other harmful activities will be allowed in order to preserve the natural features of this property. The conservation easement is a permanent recorded document and runs with the land through all future landowners.
